Arrive early and wander freely. Superb site
佩尔盖古城的点评
点评：Perge was fabulous. Having also been to Ephesus and Jerash, Perge is in that category of large scale superb ancient cities. Unlike the crowded ruins of Italy, you’re able to wander Perge freely with little or no other tourists. It’s a must for anyone interested in ancient history.
The 20 minute drive from Kaleici Antalya was quite easy and parking was plentiful. We visited mid September when the temperature was in the 90’s, but arrived just after opening and was able to spend 2 hrs comfortably. There is a small convenience store at entry to purchase beverages if needed. Although we enjoyed our visit, it was unfortunate that the large amphitheater across from the hippodrome stadium was closed for restoration.
If driving, and depending on how much time you have dedicated to see ancient ruins and waterfalls, we broke up our visits into 2 days which was perfect. Day 1, we drove to Perge, afterwards drove the 15 minutes to the Kurşunlu waterfall, then drove the 30 min to the Upper Duden waterfalls. These destinations were all towards the north eastern side
From Antalya. Day 2, we drove to Aspendos, then to Side ruins, and finished at the Lower Duden waterfall. This easier itinerary worked out very well for us.
