点评:As a jump pilot myself, I wanted to stop in and check out both companies on the North Shore. I initially parked in Skydive Hawaii’s lot while I went inside to check it out and ask about prices. I then walked down to check out GoJump as well and didn’t think to move my car.
After deciding to do a jump with GoJump, I came back to my car afterward, and as I was getting ready to leave, a man drove up behind my car and asked if I was leaving because he was about to call a tow truck for my car and another that was parked next to me. I told him I was leaving and started to drive away, but immediately noticed two of my tires were completely flat.
When I checked them, both valve caps were gone and the valve cores had been removed so the tires couldn’t be refilled. The car that was next to mine appeared to have the exact same thing done to it.
When I addressed the employees about it, they said they didn’t do it but told me I “shouldn’t have parked in their lot if I wasn’t jumping there.”
I ended up having to call the police to report vehicle tampering. Thankfully, the managers at GoJump were able to help me repair the tires so I wasn’t stranded.
As someone in the skydiving community, this was extremely unprofessional and not the kind of behavior you expect from people representing the sport.
Re: Towing is one thing, but tampering with and damaging people’s property is another.
