点评：I arranged to travel on the Bernina Express in March 2026 and having travelled I can say this is definitely the best time of the year to experience it. At the bottom of the route the surrounding area is green and lush but as the train climbed higher we entered the snowline and soon we were in a winter wonderland with lots of snow capped hills, buildings and countryside.
To get from Pontresina to Poschiavo the train goes through the Bernina Pass and the area was thick with snow. There were people skiing and even though it was bright sunlight the area was thick with snow. There were lakes covered with snow and just starting to melt in places. It was wonderful to see.
I loved that as we travelled over the Alps we got the best of both worlds. Having gone over the pass we stopped at Alp Grum and there was an opportunity to get off the train and admire the glorious scenery.
So wonderful to experience!
