Hampton Cove Highlands Course Review
Hampton Cove Golf Course的点评
点评：Hampton Cove consists of two regulation length 18 hole courses (Highlands & River), along with a 18 hole par 3 course. The River Course & the par 3 course are on the same side of the property as the clubhouse. The Highlands Course is across the road, on the other side of the property, and is accessed thru a tunnel under the road. The Highlands Course does not return to the clubhouse, but hole 9 ends near the tunnel.
Played the Highlands Course on 12/30/22. For late December the course was in great condition. The greens had been previously punched, but still rolled true. Although the rough was dormant, it did not adversely effect play. The fairways, also, were in good shape.
I have previously played RTJ Trail sites at Silver Lakes, Grand National, Capital Hill, Cambrian Ridge, Ross Bridge, and Magnolia Grove. The Highlands Course, from the white tees, was very playable. It is a great layout, with some water, some elevation changes, some trees, some open-wind exposed holes and great variety in the course layout. The Highlands Course is not as difficult as some of the more higher rated RTJ courses, but it was a blast to play. I was able to play all 18 holes in about 3 1/2 hours, which includes time to stop and take course photos.
I did not use the bag drop or bag staff. I just changed in the parking lot and walked to the clubhouse. This was basically due to the fact that the bag drop was not close to the parking lot & I had valuables inside my bag.
I came in a day early to make my tee time, and use the practice facilities. The people clubhouse we're very nice and accommodating. They gave us directions to our hotel, made dinner suggestions, and directed us to the nearest supermarket. Making the tee time was flawless.
The practice facility consisted of a driving range and several chipping and putting greens.
On the day I played, I walked my bag into the bag drop. Check in at the clubhouse was flawless. When I came out my bag and cart were ready, off I went to the 1st hole.
At the 1st hole, I checked in with the starter who was a great guy, and off I went, 10 minutes early.
Up until this point, everything about Hampton Cove was just as good as all the other Trail sites I have been to. However, the post round experience was not up to Trail standards.
I waited at the bar for about 10 minutes before any of the wait staff noticed me. It was not crowded. I was ready to leave, and take my business elsewhere until my girlfriend flagged someone down. The entire wait staff were more focused on other things besides customer service.
I will play Hampton Cove again, but will skip my post round beer and trail burger, which is a tradition of mine. My only positive comment about the wait staff was that the food was good, and was served hot.
