点评：“Summer of Play” more like Summer of Disappointment.
We visited expecting a fun, family-focused day and were genuinely disappointed by how little effort seemed to have gone into the activities.
The advertised Summer of Play consisted of a chest containing a pair of stilts, some hoops and a few bean bags, all dumped at the top of the field in one location. That was essentially it. Having visited other National Trust properties where they have transformed the whole space into an exciting, engaging trail, this felt incredibly lacklustre — more like a handful of equipment had been put out as an afterthought than a properly planned family activity.
Things didn’t improve when we went to the café at around 12:30pm. There was no cold adult food left in the fridges, despite it being lunchtime, and we were told hot food wasn't being served, despite hot food being advertised on the counter. There were only a limited number of children's sandwiches remaining, and unfortunately the sandwich we bought for our child was stale.
We also asked about the Pokémon activity currently being advertised by the National Trust, but the member of staff on reception seemed completely overwhelmed and wasn't particularly clear on what the activity actually involved. Not exactly reassuring when you're visiting specifically because of the activities being advertised.
Ultimately, we walked around the grounds and then left to find somewhere else to take the children — a nearby farm park provided far more entertainment and felt considerably more worthwhile.
The whole experience was a huge missed opportunity. Other National Trust properties have demonstrated that these activities can be imaginative, engaging and genuinely exciting for families. Here, it felt like the bare minimum had been provided.

我们还询问了国家信托基金目前正在宣传的宝可梦相关活动，但前台的工作人员似乎忙得不可开交，对于活动的具体内容也说得含糊不清。当你专门为了这些宣传活动而前来参观时，这种回应实在无法让人安心啊。
说到底，。我们绕着园区走了一圈，随后离开，打算另找个地方带孩子们去玩——附近的农场公园能提供丰富的娱乐项目，也值得一去得多。
整个体验简直是一次巨大的遗憾。其他国家信托旗下的景点都证明，这类活动完全可以设计得富有创意、引人入胜且真正能让家庭乐在其中；而这里提供的活动却仅仅算是敷衍了事罢了。
