A pleasant journey - but go at the right time!
惠灵顿缆车 的点评
点评：The ride is smooth and in good conditions you get excellent views from the car, although quite a bit of the journey is in tunnels full of coloured lights. Everything is clean and seemingly well-maintained. Unfortunately we reached the summit in the early evening and the museum was closed.
We had originally planned to travel much earlier but as we approached the station we could see there was a very long queue. The cable car seems to be an essential part of cruise itineraries when they visit the city, although why anyone would want to spend up to an hour (estimated) queueing for a cable car in their limited time in Wellington was beyond us.
We returned in the early evening and walked straight on with a wide choice of seats. At the top we decided to visit the Botanical Gardens and found walking through that you descend very rapidly so our return journey started one stop down from the summit. In the shelter was a notice showing the daily schedule of cruise ships for the benefit of locals who use the cable car as local transport so they can avoid busy times. Our advice is to plan your visit around the cruise schedules.
