Brief familiarisation of Sarlat de la Caneda

点评：We went visited from 29th August - 1st September 2026 for a short break to see if we would consider a longer stay in future. The answer we arrived at was a resounding YES! Lots of restaurants, some VERY good, in Sarlat and lots of medieval back streets/lanes of character to explore. Even has a cinema (if its raining) ! Many beauty spots within 30 minutes drive worth visiting. We arrived on a Saturday when the Market was already in full swing - definitely worth a visit, prices maybe a little cheaper outside peak tourist season. Public Car Parks in Sarlat are mainly 'Paying' although there are Free ones within 10 minutes walk of the main/high street - 'Rue de la Republic' where the Saturday (and Wednesday in summer) markets takes place. 15 minutes drive gets you to all the French 'high street' chain shops. Enjoy!
