点评:Sarah Nelson’s gingerbread shop is a piece of The Lake District. A small insignificant establishment next to St Oswald’s church in Grasmere. It’s easy to find, as there is always a queue, whatever the weather outside.
Inside the shop and bakery, the smell of freshly baked gingerbread is fabulous, I would love to bottle it up and pump it out at home.
The staff are suitably dressed, and the produce are displayed “Victorian era” style. It’s all made in a tiny kitchen to a secret recipe, and personally I could eat it till the “cows come home”.
Eaten fresh is preferable, but it lasts in or out of the cooler.( it does get a bit harder with age but the flavor remains)
If you are in the Lakes and at the top end of Windermere, then Grasmere is the place to head, and buy “ the Caviar “ of the north.
