点评:We had such a special afternoon here for my mum's birthday. It is calm, beautiful, relaxing and interesting. It's not just Pine trees. There are wild flowers (I saw mostly bluebells, primroses and daffodils) azaleas, giant rhubarb, large ponds and my new favourite tree, which I think is called a Weeping Alaskan Cedar?
I think it's incredible value, given that there is no entry fee.
We visited the information centre and lovely café first to get pamphlets and read up on what route we wanted to do. It's a beautiful building looking out over one of the ponds.
Although we only ordered drinks, there seemed to be a lot of good food options available.
I think it would be good if there was a one off cash donation drum in the visitors centre and the option to do this one off donation on leaving when paying by card for the parking. Am not sure if this already exists, but I didn't see it.
One thing I really noticed was how clear the air felt and what a delicious smell of pine. It was one of the purest airs I can remember.
I think all ages would enjoy and benefit from visiting this beautiful landscape.
