点评:Takakkaw Falls is an amazing waterfall located in Yoho National Park a short drive away from the town of Field. The area is free to enter with a National Parks Pass and this was free when we visited in 2026. You can get a view of the waterfall from the parking lot but it is worth doing the short walk to get closer to the falls to get the full effect and enjoy the most from the falls. It is an easy walk but we would still recommend closed toed shoes and to mind your footing. We spent about 30 minutes in the area but you could easily plan for more time because of the picnic tables and trails in the area.
There was plenty of parking when we got up there unlike the insanely busy Emerald Lake. This is a fairly popular spot in the park but is only open in the summer months (June to October) and depends on weather and snow melt. There are some switchbacks on the road so this area is not accessible by large vehicles, RVs and you cannot bring a trailer into this area. There is an area to park trailers but we would recommend going with a smaller vehicle. On the way down you have to yield to traffic coming up and it makes sense to yield before the sign to allow people room to turn and we believe that it would make sense for the park to install a convex mirror to spot vehicles coming up.
