点评：The Matterhorn is the unique, pyramid shaped alpine peak (4478m) situated along the border between Switzerland and Italy. This is widely considered the most photographed mountain peak in the world and a highlight of visits to the village of Zermatt, where we recently spent a few nights during our holiday to Switzerland.
You can view Matterhorn very well from Zermatt, especially on days with clear skies and good visibility. We also enjoyed seeing the peak as part of various cogwheel rail, gondola and cable car transportation up the mountains, including our visit to The Matterhorn Glacier Paradise station.
There are numerous hiking and mountain climbing opportunities around the Matterhorn. We completed the Matterhorn Glacier Trail between Trockener Steg and Schwarzsee stations, a roughly 6.5 km trail which outstanding views of the mountain along with remarkable surrounding landscape throughout. This is a trail that can be completed by those with minimal hiking experience and a wonderful way to see the Matterhorn when sky conditions are favourable.
