点评:This place is not for the faint-hearted or those afraid of heights!
Climbing up the inside of the huge tower was one thing, stepping out onto the viewing platform was another. I had no idea I had vertigo - or close to it! It felt like the whole tower was going to topple over. Of course it didn't, and my companions took photos and told me to look at this and that. I glanced from the safety of the walls - lol.
The only thing that kept me sane was the thought of some delicious tea and scones in the tearooms below - apparently some of the best scones in Tassie.
But when we got back down to ground level, enjoyed the trinkets and info in the little museum there, and wandered down to the tearooms, we discovered they were closed.
NO!!!
I climbed all that way for nothing?
Apparently they weren't open on Wednesdays. And then another website said they were only open on weekends - so check your info in a couple of places to avoid disappointment.
I had to be happy with an unsatisfactory banana instead of scones, and I was not a little disgruntled.
Great tower though. Worth doing - but it is REALLY high.
