The Turtle Hospital的点评
点评：Wanted to see what this was all about and wasn’t disappointed.
Now when you arrive you’re not sure what to expect as it looks like a roadside motel complex, that is what it was and it is now a purpose made hospital for turtles.
The guide was great, had only been there a month but was funny and really knowledgeable, the only issue was her headset that seemed to drop in and out when talking.
It was amazing to hear that the local hospital will give them MRI scans for injured turtles and even assist with anything else medical.
They have a small shop on site and a bigger one down the road and are looking to expand the site by purchasing further land next to the hospital.
Of course staff have to be paid but all the money goes into the hospital, they even have the 5 resident turtles who can’t be released named on a will !
Excellent trip and good to know we’re helping the 🐢.
This and my airboat ride were the only trips/visits we did where they did NOT ask for any tips - a welcome change.
