点评:Once the kids were karting, it was fine. However, the experience of Capital Karts' administration and staffing on the day has to be one of the most unprofessional, chaotic and unpleasant consumer experience we have had for many years! The staff lack appropriate training and/or oversight by a competent manager. One member of staff actually appeared to be enjoying our awful experience, smirking, whilst some others, including who we were led to believe was the most senior employee, needed to be policed by our party in respect of every aspect of our visit: timing, safety talk, food, information. We had to work very hard from the moment we arrived to find out information about every aspect of our visit. The staff member who we thought was responsible for our party spent most of her time chatting to other members of staff and seemed annoyed whenever we tried to find out information from her. She seemed to spend most of her time leaning against the cafe socialising. Ultimately, it was only when we became cross and demanded a partial refund did Capital Karts even attempt to meaningfully engage with our party, but even then not so as deliver the service we had paid for or provide clear information or even intelligible information. Lots of shrugging of shoulders and lack of interest. The kids eventually got onto the track about an hour and a half late, with some of them in tears through the heat and discomfort of the racing clothing. After the racing we had to work hard to get out pizzas cooked and onto the table. Other customers were clearly having a similar experience - one family came over to our group to share their similar experience and deep frustration.
Capital Karts reminded us of what used to be said about the old British Rail 40 or 50 years ago: profoundly unprofessional, inefficient and, often, rude. It is a wonder that it survives as a business. We will not be returning.
