点评：One of St Martin's most popular beaches, Pinel Island is a short ferry or kayak ride from the Cul-de-Sac community, where you can leave your car in a parking lot beside the dock. The ferry costs $12 per person roundtrip (in 2026) and only accepts cash, and the ride takes about 10 minutes each way.
Pinel's beach is reasonably large but will fill up quickly on weekends, so try to reserve beach chairs a day or two before you arrive. You can book chairs and umbrellas in advance through either the Karibuni or Yellow Beach restaurants, and the charge will be added to your bill at the end of the day. Then settle in, order a cocktail or two, and enjoy one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean. Because Pinel's cove is sheltered from the ocean waves, the water here is unusually gentle and perfect for snorkelers or families with small kids.
Food is available at the two restaurants just off the beach -- we had lunch at Karibuni, which was decent but overpriced, and the service was beyond slow. There are also public restrooms available at either location. Pinel also has a series of hiking trails that crisscross the plateau in the middle of the island and make for a great scenic stroll when you need a break from the beach.
It takes some effort to get to Pinel (especially if you're staying on the Dutch side), but the calm waters and tranquil setting make it worth the trip. Plan on grabbing an early ferry after breakfast and staying all day, if you can. It's a wonderful day trip from anywhere on SXM!
