点评：Megalithic ancient sites are my lifeline and this one particularly hits something special. There is an energy and a magic in the air and you can feel the presence of the ancestors at certain points on the site. Besides the amazing views, epic sunsets, awesome sunrises and tangible connection there is a somatic and visceral vibe that heals your mind, body and soul. .
The sunrise for both the Spring and Autumn Equinox magic happens as the rising sun perfectly aligns with the main passage tomb, Cairn T. Unlike nearby Newgrange, Loughcrew hasn't been 'revived' to appeal to mass tourism and that is why it's so magical.
The OPW manage the site, it's free fo visit all day and all night and at busy times there are OPW staff on site to offer tours and information. The land is shared with livestock, be mindful of that when bringing your dogs along it's their home and all living beings should feel safe at home 💚 There are some other Cairns dotted around the area, having asked Sarah at the nearby Megalithic Centre if they are also accessable, she informed me that they are on private land and the owners do not like people taking liberties to trespass on the land 🙏
