点评:Our visit to Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Splashtown was very disappointing, especially considering how much everything costs.
Parking alone was $25, tickets were around $35 per person, and the food prices were ridiculous. A small order of french fries with a few small chicken strips was about $20, and we saw pizza priced at around $60. For a family, these costs add up extremely fast. At those prices, you would expect a much better overall experience.
We also had to wait for about an hour before all of the pools could open because of a “weather” delay, even though we were only experiencing light rain at the time. I understand that safety policies have to be followed if there is lightning or dangerous weather nearby, but it was frustrating to pay this much and spend so much time waiting for the attractions to open. To make matters worse, many of the rides were closed, so we weren't even able to enjoy much of what we paid admission for.
I was also concerned about the water quality in the Coconut Bay toddler area. It was extremely crowded, and the water did not look particularly clean. An area specifically intended for toddlers and young children should be monitored and cleaned frequently, especially when that many people are using it.
Another concern was the family environment. This is a park where many parents bring young children, yet some of the swimwear we saw was extremely revealing, including thong-style swimsuits and tops with very little coverage. I think the park should consider having reasonable standards for attire in family and children's areas. Parents bringing young kids should be able to expect an environment appropriate for families.
Customer service was disappointing as well. Several employees we encountered looked like they did not want to be there, and when we asked questions, they were not particularly helpful or cooperative.
For the amount a family can easily spend here in one day, Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Splashtown needs to do much better.
