点评:This is a really pared-down version of what I recall from years ago, and questionably worth the price of admission ($38 total for one adult and one student). The tour is only about an hour, and you only visit 1/3 of the plant--either the body shop, paint shop, or assembly building. I recall years ago seeing the entire process end-to-end on the tour. When booking, they tell you which of the areas your tour visits, but you don't have a choice--for maybe 1/2 a year or so they will only do tours in one area. It's still interesting to see at least one section of the production process, in the case of our visit it was the body shop where they weld different parts together to make the chassis. The tour is guided and tightly controlled, which it has to be with the robots moving around. There is a lot of walking, but they go at an easy pace. Kids with short attention spans probably are not well suited for the tour. Each tour group comprises about a dozen people, and they provide headsets through which you can clearly hear the guide explain things in the noisy factory.
The tour begins and ends in the Zentrum. It is a showroom with some notable BMW cars on display, but overall pretty small and not terribly impressive. Again, from memory this used to have a lot more cars on display, but a lot of that space has now been taken up by a coffee shop.
