点评:Thank you, Nick, for a most enlightening tour of an historic house complete with historic furnishings. It has been kept, as much as possible, just as the last owner left it with furniture dating back maybe a couple of centuries. To see items from the 1940's, 50's and even 60's in such an old house and amongst older antiques, sounds incongruous but tells of a lived in home. It also reveals a way of life that, to a great extent, has ceased to exist. If you're older this house and interior might bring back memories of the way a grandmother or great grandmother lived a simpler, slower way of life. If you're young and want to do a school project on something different - go and visit this house. The past comes alive so much more than Google or Wikipedia can make it. If you do visit make sure you find the 1940's/50's Google/Wikipedia. Wait - you thought they were new???
