Enjoyable mountain train ride

点评：Delightful afternoon train ride through the mountains. Very comfortable cars with lots of different seating options and very easy to move between cars (with care) to enjoy covered and open seating. Conductor provided interesting narrative and was friendly and eager to answer questions. Snacks and souvenirs are available on board, though we brought our own. And there’s a larger gift shop at the depot. Even with your online reservation, be sure to stop at depot office to get paper tickets as the conductor comes through the train to punch them. Special shout out to online customer service which promptly handled a small issue for us. Plenty of parking and restrooms. We did not spend time in the town but the Silver Spoon Saloon was recommended. We drove from Avon, and took Route 24 which was scenic, albeit a bit winding (but nothing difficult so long as you obey the posted speed limits around switchbacks and curves). Definitely recommend - for all ages- if looking for a leisurely way to spend a few hours in the mountains.
