点评：My daughter, two friends, and I visited the Double R the first week of October. I made our reservations almost a year ago and have been looking forward to our visit ever since. Our stay was everything I hoped and more. The owners (Ron and Trina) welcomed us when we arrived mid-afternoon, we settled into our lovely casita and gathered at the corral for our first ride at sunset. We met Cowboy Frank and Rebecca (our wranglers) and were matched with horses based on our riding experience. My mount Amigo was sure footed and the ride through the mesquite, alligator juniper, and lush grass during the golden hour was beautiful. We returned from our ride for the first of many fantastic meals prepared by Deb (the best chef in Arizona). Our rides were tailored to our preferences; we were able to visit Tombstone for sightseeing, dinner at Big Nose Kate's and enjoyed a wine tasting at Callaghan Vineyards. The ride to Patagonia Lookout was spectacular. We spotted a great horned owl in the wild and heard him (or her) near the casita at night. Speaking of night, the dark sky at the ranch is incredible. Our rides were different routes each time and we were able to keep our favorite mount and/or try another of the ranches many great horses. After I rode Amigo for 2 days, I had Bright Eyes for two days (a beautiful Appaloosa mare), and Max (a Gypsy Vanner gelding) for the farewell ride our last morning. Meals were family style and we loved getting to know Ron, Trina, Frank, Deb, and Rebecca. Morning and evenings spent on the front porch around a fire pit and afternoons trying our hand (and arms) at roping under the personal coaching by Trina were extra fun. If you are looking for a wonderful location to visit with family and friends, the Double R is the place. we will definitely return as soon as possible.
