Beautiful quiet beach.
Grayton Beach State Park的点评
点评：We stayed in the state park cabins which have a section of beach exclusively for cabin residents. The cabin area has a keycode gate for entry. Cabins are 2BR, 1 bath with full kitchen and screen porch. Perfect for couples or mom-dad with 2 young kids. 4 adults would have to be really good friends to share this small cabin. Cabins are fairly close but there is enough foliage between to offer some privacy. The lower the cabin number the closer you are to the beach. 1-4 are closest about 1/4 waymile from beach while 10-15 are farthest at 1/2 mile away. The beach parking area is small, only room for 8-10 vehicles. There is an open fresh water shower here BUT...there is no restroom or changing rooms. There is also no lifeguard for this part of beach.
The beach is gorgeous with emerald grern water and white sugar sand. It was clean and quiet the 5 days we were here, never saw more than 20 people at a time although that may change seasinally. Beach access is by an ADA boardwalk about 100 yards long. If you plan on taking a wheelchair or scooter you can get to the beach fairly easily but it will take a heroic effort to get back up the long and fairly steep ramp.
There is another public beach in the other half of the park which is seperated by about a 1/2 mile from the cabin beach. This stretch of beach is mostly private but you can walk from one to the other if you stay on the tidal line. If you do hike between the 2 sections of park be aware that there are 2 fresh water dune lakes that occassionally overflow and make small steams to the seawater that you may have to wade.
The other state park section of the beach is located near the campground and allows day use people. There is a larger parking area with an oversize vehicle lot, kayak rentals and restrooms.
Also at this area is a dune nature trail about 1 mile long that allows for up close viewing of dunes and wildlife.
There is an admission fee for non-campers or cabin renters.
