点评:Ten months prior I was lucky enough to see the one of the Seven Wonders of Oregon in the Painted Hills. Those were vibrant, stripes of reds, oranges, yellows, and blacks throughout an expansive, vast landscape. Fast forward to the Spring of '25 and nearly 800 miles south by southeast where my explorative mind raced with curiosity and excitement to discover how this more concentrated display of colors along the Death Valley mountainside compared. The rocks at Artist's Palette were a pale purple, pink, and green and only in one small area. They were muted and not as vivid I had hoped visiting in the late afternoon. Perhaps sunrise or sunset is the time to go for the best color viewing. While both are beautiful natural creations that everyone should witness at least once in their lifetime, Oregon's Painted Hills are an easy winner as to which I'd tell others to go see first. Pure serenity.
