Leland Stanford Mansion State Historic Park的点评
点评：I wish that I could say this was a great experience, but it wasn't. I grew up in California and was familiar with the stories about the Leland Stanford family so I thought it would be interesting to see the mansion where the family had lived.
I am amazed that, having read previous reviews from as far back as 10 years ago that the same people who were disappointed in the experience matched pretty much what my husband and I experienced.
1. One lady said they couldn't find where to enter for the tour. It is not at the front gate. It's on the side of the house. There is a visitor's center located there.
2. Street parking is not easy to obtain. And there is metered parking everywhere. So, good luck finding parking. We arrived late in the day so there was some parking available.
3. We experienced the same indifferent attitude from the staff in the visitor's center that people mentioned from years ago. That's too bad.
4. The mansion itself is not a self guided tour, you have to go with a guide. According to the website the tours are every hour on the hour. It also says that tours may be cancelled due to activities being held in the mansion. I highly recommend calling before you go.
In summary: The visitors center was the best part, and you can see that at any time the park is open from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
