Charming place which needs to train their staff better to
Wawona Hotel, National Historic Landmark的点评
点评：This is an older place with a lot of charm though no modern amenities (like A/C). We liked the place and though we had hoped for a place in the valley we thought the location was nice and peaceful. The drive into the valley is so pretty that we didn't mind to go and hike. The room was clean when we got there. We stayed 5 nights, as did 3 other couples with us. The rooms were not cleaned at all during our stay, You would think after 3 nights tops they could refresh the towels at least. Other than that our issues were with the service at the restaurant. They are the only game in town so it is nice to be able to eat there. We were the last couple in our party of 8 to arrive and the others were at dinner when we got there. The waiter told us we could join them for dessert or order food to sit outside from the bar. My husband has a blood cancer so we are very careful about covid. We checked into our room and then went to the bar to order food and they would not let us order as they were not doing takeout. We could wait an hour and a half for a table (we didn't really want to sit inside so we had PB&J in our rrom). The next day we asked if we could bring our food outside and were told no, so we asked if the 8 of us could sit by the window. We were told they could give us 2 tables of 4 by the window. We showed up and the two tables were next to each other but we cannot pull them together because "they are by the window". This was enough to anger me after the night before. The next night I think someone different was there and we were able to pull the tables together. What happened to serving the customer? We explained about my husbands cancer that did nothing. Also, there is wifi only in the lobby of the hotel and there are no coffee makers in the rooms. These would both be very inexpensive things for them to fix. One more thing, our bed was such that our heads were downhill. We rotated the mattress and it was better.
