Sahha Sahara的点评
点评：Juanita provided enormous help in identifying the trek option which best suited our circumstances. This being our first visit to Tunisia and to the Saraha, she asked questions which helped us to avoid a poor choice.
Although she was away at the time of our trek, she was still keeping a close eye on the weather and at a very late stage, offered us the choice of moving the date. We went out on a beautiful evening but by the next morning, winds had picked up and we experienced a light version of the less pleasant conditions of higher winds that would surely have been the case had we stayed with our original choice.
Meloud and his colleagues showed great concern that we were safe as well as enjoying ourselves; both of these being achieved with great success. Meloud also has a very good eye for taking photographs which we will cherish forever.
Just us with four Bedouin cameleers. While we slept on mattresses in a very comfortable tent, they slept outside (as is their preference). They were where they are happiest — in the desert.
Everything about Sahha Sahara is authentic and very well organized — the food, sheltering for the night and, of course, the wonderful camels and cameleers who brought us in and out. There also were many little delights such as a snack of fresh oranges (also a major attraction for the dromedaries) and searches for desert rose stones exposed by shifting sands.
We can well understand why many place their trust in Juanita and her partners to take far longer treks much deeper into the desert.
I would add that our overnight excursion was very time efficient in that it allowed us the day prior and the one after to make other visits (e.g., Douz, Matmata, Tamezret) in the region.
