Visiting Aphrodisias 2026 with public transport

点评：Getting to Aphrodisias with only public transport is challenging but a great adventure. Start from Denizli otogar, -1 level where dolmuş-es are. At 70 something peron look for a bus going to Nazilli. Tell the driver to drop you at Kuyucak intersection (road D-585). You can always signal the driver by saying Müsait yerde lütfen (İn a convinient place). Cross the road and walk down to D-585 there will be a bus stop there. A dolmuş is gonna come your way, take it to Karacasu otogar. There you most likely need to wait, I will post the timetable. You can ask the driver Aphrodisias’a otobüs ne zaman kalkacak? (When is the bus to Aphrodisias leave). The driver will drop you off at the main gate, again calculate your time, based on return time. Also ask the driver Ne zaman geri dönüyorsunuz? (what time are you returning). Walk out from the main gate, cross the road and wait at the bus stop. You will need to repeat the process: go to Karacasu then Nazilli / Kuyucak then Denizli. This journey with travel and wait time takes at least 4hours in one direction. I spent a total of 10hours traveling back and fort and exploring the site.
An other way to go is to take tcdd train from denizli to Kuyucak, Aydin. Its basically the same spot where you need to approach the previous method’s 2nd dolmuş on D-585.
İt has to be possible to from Aphrodisias to Tavas (with the dolmuş you took from Karacasu) and from there to Denizli. But I didn’t try this method.
An other way to go is to take tcdd train from denizli to Kuyucak, Aydin. Its basically the same spot where you need to approach the previous method’s 2nd dolmuş on D-585.
