Caveat Emptor - if you visit Kordonboyu restaurant in Izmir

点评：We were greeted by the owner who said he was third generation owner and said he would serve us with good local food.
He suggested to our friend that she should have a locally caught fish, claiming it to be cheaper than sea bass, which she could have at any time in the UK and for us we should share a local fish stew with a bottle of white house wine.
We ordered several side dishes and had a pleasant evening at the end of which my wife, to whom the bill was presented and settled by her as she had our joint bank card.
Being a trusting person and not understanding the local currency she assumed that we had been treated honestly and fairly and did not realise that we had been fleeced, which I only realised the following morning when I looked at the bill, extracts of which follow:
Sea food stew for 2 persons - £95.89
House wine - £38.72 per bottle
Grilled cat fish = £38.72
Various side dishes ( two of which we ordered and were definitely not served and two expensive rogue items which have no translation) and two beers.
Total for three persons £275.54
For a standard Turkish restaurant sitting amongst others on the same street this was outrageous and this experience deserves to be highlighted.
Of course, I should have checked the bill myself so it is a case of Mea Culpa, however it is a warning to anyone considering visiting this place to get a written quote before ordering and checking the bill when it is presented.
During our weeks visit we met so many lovely and honest local people but this experience has tarnished it and left a sour taste as well as a large dent on our debit card.

三个人总共花费了275.54英镑。
对于一家位于同一条街上、与其他土耳其餐厅并存的普通餐厅而言，这个价格实在离谱。这次经历值得被记录下来。
当然，我本应该亲自核对账单的，所以只能说是我的疏忽了。不过，这也给任何打算光顾此地的人一个警示：下单前务必获取书面报价，收到账单后也要仔细核对。
在我们逗留的几周里，遇到了许多友善又诚实的当地人，但这次经历却破坏了这份美好的印象——它不仅让我们心里不是滋味，还让我们的借记卡余额大幅减少。
