点评：Our host and guide Hoang Tran led us on a fabulous 40 km cycle ride around rural Hoi An, including Cam Kim Island. We rode along tranquil roads and trails that ran beside rice fields, passing gourds grown hanging from trellises and the occasional water buffalo wallowing in pools to cool themselves in the 36 °C heat. The solitude of the countryside was occasionally interrupted by a motorcycle puttering past us at an unhurried pace. Along the way, we stopped at roadside stalls to quench our thirst with fresh coconut and orange juice. At scheduled stops, we tried our hand at making rice noodles, weaving reed mats and visited a rice wine maker to get an overview of the winemaking process, including sampling a few wines. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day and a great way to get a sense of life in rural Vietnam. The hospitality of Vietnamese people is without peer.
