点评:For the amout of money we paid - $181 per person! - we expected a lot more. It was 104 degrees outside. The trains were supposed to board at 3:30. We did not board until almost 5:00 p.m., and there was no shelter to stay under - you either stood outside in the blaring sun, or sat in your car with the A/C on. There was No air conditioning in the railcars. The car was terriby crowded and the noise level was high. If there was any information being told through their speaker system, we never heard it. Even though we paid the VIP price, we were seated at a long, narrow table along the side of the railcare, on hard folding metal chairs, facing outwards right into the sun. There were lots of 4 tops and even 2 top tables, but we apparently lost the draw on where we would be seated. It was horribly hot and they left the outside doors of each car open for air which also included the smell and smoke from the engine. After about an hour, both my travel partner and I had a headache. The food was actually quite good and the poor girls who tried to meet the needs of all the people they jammed onto the railcars did the best they could. Only two bathrooms were useable and walking the length of the railcars to get to one of them was difficult to say the least with all the rocking and swaying of the cars. Each time the conductor and/or brakeman started or stopped the cars, we were jerked so badly we had to hold on to our drinks and try to stay on our hard folding chairs without getting thrown off. All in all, it was a very large disappointment after the months of planning and looking forward to what we hoped would be a grand adventure. I wrote a note to the Lewistown Chamber, who puts on this experience, and have not heard one word back from them apologizing for the conditions of the railcars, the problems with the timing of loading everyone, and certainly no offer of compensation for the problems we encountered. I would not ever recommend this activity as being a fun time, or especially, being safe - the railcars are not in the best condition at all.
