Sadly disappointing and afternoon tea definately not 1st class quality

点评：Hugely dissappointing experience. On early arrival and on asking we were told as we were 1st class passengers for afternoon tea that we would have a tray each of food and wouldn't need anything else after. So we didn't eat anything prior to our journey. As the train left the tray (not trays) came with a selection of cakes and 3 finger sandwiches each. The tuna and onion sandwiches were reasonably filled but the hummus and smashed avocado filling was so thin that the sandwiches felt dry to eat (pics attached). Although previous replies to comments on the cakes saying they were freshly made locally I seriously doubt this. The scones were tiny and dry definately not freshly made and the fresh thick cream was on the turn (you could smell it and taste it) so the scones weren't eaten. The other bite size cakes were of no better quality. Similar to what you would find in a costa coffee shop. So basically we left hungry. The large pot of tea for two came with one teabag in it so weak tea all round even after squeezing the life out of the teabag!! We had to ask for milk as well.
The steam train was definately very nostalgic as well as intitial thoughts on the train itself. First class compartments were basic and windows were dirty. On the outward/inward bound trips the seating in the 1st class compartments are roadside so lovely views of houses, cars and some countryside but miss out really on the Cairngorm wilderness views without getting out of your seat and standing in the corridor. It is a very short journey which was fine but the train stopped around 44 minutes of the 105 minute journey at the 2 stations. The only plus side of this journey was the young 16 year old who did his best to serve us and was a very polite young man top marks to him.
All in all you are paying for the experience of being pulled by a steam train but as for the food absolutely not worth it for £150 and for that main reason we would not return.

蒸汽火车确实让人感到怀旧，就像我对火车本身的第一印象一样。头等车厢很简陋，窗户也很脏。去程/回程时，头等车厢的座位靠路边，所以能看到一些房屋、汽车和乡村景色，但如果不离开座位走到走廊里，就看不到凯恩戈姆山脉的荒野风光了。旅程很短，这倒没什么，但火车在105分钟的行程中，在两个车站停了大约44分钟。这次旅行唯一的亮点是一位16岁的年轻乘务员，他尽力为我们服务，而且非常有礼貌，必须给他点个赞。
