点评:Be prepared for large tour groups during the morning hours as bus loads are dropped off constantly. They come and go within minutes but it can get rather crowded and noisy.
We went during the latter part of the afternoon and it was not quite as busy. It is very convenient to take public transportation to Lion Monument as Line #1 drops you off only like two blocks walk up to the monument. You just need to be vigilent with the signs that lead up to the monument as they are not plenty -- if unsure, just follow the small groups of people walking up.
It is a solemn place to contemplate and have a quiet moment as it is dedicated to the Swiss Guards who were killed in the 1792 French Revolution whle guarding King Louis XVI. The early evening sun shining as a reflection in the pool of this mini park is an experience that one needs to be there in the presence to appreciate the significance of this monument. Definitely worth to take a moment out of your visit to Lucerne and visit.
