点评:We were really excited about visiting Pennhurst Asylum for an overnight paranormal tour, but unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to our expectations.
We drove four hours to get there, and the weather was a factor, as the conditions made things especially challenging with unavoidable puddles throughout the property. We started with the scheduled property history tour, which was supposed to last over an hour, but we decided to leave early due to the weather and overall lack of interest.
During the next phase—touring several buildings with the group—we noticed that many areas were closed off. The limited space led to overcrowding and poor etiquette among guests. It made it harder to experience paranormal activity and to fully immerse ourselves in the experience.
Most of the staff were friendly, helpful, and welcoming. However, there were one or two staff members who repeatedly reminded the group of their ability to remove guests from the property. While rules and guidance are definitely important, the repeated warnings felt excessive—most adults understand expectations after one or two reminders.
On a positive note, they do offer the use of paranormal investigation equipment, which is a great perk. They also had rain ponchos available, though we weren’t aware of them until after we were already soaked.
Overall, I think this location has a lot of potential. With a few adjustments—especially around communication, crowd management, and weather preparedness—it could be a much better experience.
