Tallinn Zoo的点评
点评：While visiting family and friends in Tallinn in December 2025, I took my children to Tallinn Zoo. We paid €26 for a family ticket. Although the city itself was beautifully decorated and charming during the Christmas season, our experience at the zoo was deeply disappointing and upsetting.
The zoo was extremely dark, with very little lighting, creating an atmosphere that felt unsettling rather than welcoming—more like a horror setting than a family attraction. Many enclosures were empty, and there were very few animals visible. Those we did see appeared to be kept in poor conditions. My 14-year-old son became genuinely concerned about animal welfare, which speaks volumes.
The bears looked alarmingly thin, and their enclosures appeared dirty and neglected. One seal was alone, swimming endlessly in a small pool. The animal looked lonely and distressed, and it was heartbreaking to watch. We have visited zoos around the world—including in Australia, Vietnam, Denmark, London, and the United States—and while we did not expect a large or extravagant zoo in Estonia, we certainly did not expect conditions that appeared so inadequate and distressing.
I tried not to make a scene in front of my children, but even they were shocked by what they saw. The visit left us feeling sad and disturbed rather than educated or inspired. I strongly believe that the Tallinn city authorities should urgently review and address the conditions at the zoo, particularly with regard to animal welfare.
