点评:This is an older zoo, dating back to when Wurttemberg was a kingdom and this was a royal park. It is a really nice zoo. There are older facilities that are under historic protection, but they are working hard to improve and build new ones where needed. Currently they are working on a new elephant facility. There's good food service inside. The animals are well cared for and the historic buildings are cool. Access was a bit challenging as there is a lot of road construction at this time near the zoo. We got detoured a bit. There is a tram stop at the main entrance. One of the fun things was the giant sequoia grove. It seems one of the kings bought what he thought was a small amount of seeds, but the seed are very small, so there were sequoias planted all over that part of the country. If you like zoos, this is a good one. There is a small gift shop. Note that parts of the zoo are up a fairly good sized hill.
