点评：Imposing Stately Home in nicely landscaped grounds. The interiors are very striking with a number of grand rooms built to impress, although I would have liked more information, especially on the paintings. In some respects smaller rooms were more interesting. This was particularly true for the nursery, where the mixed fortunes of one group of children were brought to life.
The servants quarters were pretty good and I liked laundry, which felt as if it were still in use. But contrary to some reviews I’ve read, there was no staff role playing or explaining. In fact, there seemed to be a shortage of staff as quite a few rooms were closed - for instance no bedrooms were open. It’s nota cheap place to visit so this was rather disappointing.
We visited during half term and there were children’s events, but this isn’t the most child friendly place. Decent cafe.
