A fun afternoon at a lovely art museum!!
Columbus Museum of Art的点评
点评：On an impromptu weekend roadtrip, from 4 hours away, we included a stop at the Columbus Museum of Art to see their exhibit Artemisia Gentileschi: From Naples to Beirut. And it didn't disappoint! We had not seen the CMA's Artemisia work Bathsheba on any of our previous visits. It's quite impressive! And to pair it with the recently restored Hercules and Omphale work and to hear that painting's story! We were still talking about the exhibit and these paintings hours later! During our afternoon at the museum, we also strolled through the galleries, hear a 10-minute talk about Aminah Robinson's My Lord, What A Morning, and interacted with two docents about the Artemisia exhibit. We enjoyed the galleries of Ohio artists like Columbus native George Bellows, Elijah Pierce, and Aminah Robinson. It was Valentine's Day weekend so the museum had a #HeartsForArt promotion, encouraging visitors to pick up a red heart to use for selfies and to vote on their favorite work. Sorry to have missed the Impressionism galleries as they were closed for new flooring. We'll keep an eye out for future exhibitions worth the drive!
