点评：The first time I stood at the edge of Tiger Leaping Gorge, I finally understood what people mean when they say a place can feel overwhelming in its scale and power. The Jinsha River surges through the narrow gorge, not gently flowing but crashing forcefully against the rocks. The mountains on both sides rise almost straight up, and when you look up, your neck starts to ache a little from the angle. The gorge itself is incredibly narrow—so narrow that you can almost imagine how the place got its name. The idea of a tiger leaping across it suddenly doesn’t seem completely impossible.
Tiger Leaping Gorge is usually divided into three sections: Upper Tiger Leap, Middle Tiger Leap, and Lower Tiger Leap, and the scenery looks a bit different from each spot. I followed the more commonly visited walking route, where the path is built right along the mountainside. Under my feet were stone steps, with railings beside the path, and far below the river roared through the gorge. The wind carried mist from the water and hit my face, and the sound of the river was so loud that people had to raise their voices to talk. It wasn’t just background noise—it was a deep, constant roar that filled your ears.
