My family has been coming to Coleman’s Christmas Tree Farm since 1990. What started as three of us has grown into a tradition with 15 people across four households, including our kids, their spouses, and grandkids. Sadly, this year was the first time we left feeling truly disappointed.
The price of trees jumped from $100 last year to $150 this year — a 50% increase — at a time when so many families are already struggling. For loyal customers of more than three decades, the sudden spike felt discouraging. On top of that, Santa wasn’t even there this year, which took away a big part of the joy for the little ones.
After all these years, we’re now looking for a new holiday tradition. I hope the farm takes these concerns to heart, because it’s tough to see such a meaningful family tradition come to an end.
