Fabio L. Was Absolutely Exceptional — The Highlight of Our Colosseum Experience!

点评：We have taken several tours during our time in Rome, but Fabio L. was, without question, the BEST guide we have had. Our underground tour of the Colosseum was already something we were incredibly excited about, but Fabio turned it into an experience we will remember for the rest of our lives.
His knowledge of the Colosseum, ancient Rome, and everything we saw was simply incredible. He didn't just point at things and give us dates and facts—he explained the history in a way that brought the Colosseum to life. Standing underground while Fabio described what happened there nearly 2,000 years ago made it easy to imagine the people, animals, gladiators, and incredible machinery that once occupied the exact same spaces where we were standing.
What impressed us even more was the level of respect Fabio clearly has among the other guides. We actually watched other tour guides come to Fabio with questions because of his knowledge. That told us everything we needed to know—we weren't just touring the Colosseum with a good guide; we were touring it with someone whom other professionals looked to for information.
Fabio is extremely well educated on the history, architecture, archaeology, and details of everything you encounter throughout the tour. No matter what we asked, he had an answer, and he explained things in a way that was thorough without ever becoming boring or overwhelming. His passion for the history is obvious, and that enthusiasm is contagious.
The underground portion was absolutely fascinating, but Fabio is what made this tour truly exceptional. There is an enormous difference between simply walking through the Colosseum and actually understanding what you're looking at, why it mattered, and how it functioned. Fabio gave us that understanding.
We've toured some incredible places, and you occasionally come across a guide who is clearly operating at another level. Fabio L. is one of those guides.
If you have the opportunity to book an underground Colosseum tour with Fabio, DO IT. We cannot recommend him highly enough. Five stars honestly doesn't seem like enough.
