I had expected much more of a local market

点评：Again, I got this disappointed feeling that I have had so many times on my Mexico trip.
When it comes to nature, we have seen some wonderful things. When it comes to culture or city-related activities, I am just not impressed in the least.
The market is smaller than I thought and quite shabby. I had expected there to be a lot of local delicacies and specialities, but it only confirmed what I already have come to think about Mexican food. I had no prior experience with Mexican food. I am a frequent traveler, open-minded and love to try out new foods. But here in Mexico, the wow-factor never came to me. The same happened with this market. They sold "ok" things, but nothing that really grabbed my attention or wowed me. It's quite plain. I guess it's OK to make a stop here if you are already in Cancún centre, but it's certainly not worth a detour.
The market closes around 5PM, unlike what Google says.
