点评：Monday 20th July, we popped in for lunch only to be told the cafe was closed and there was a pop up alternative in the shop. No lunch, just soup, scone and a cake or two. Not for the first time this has happened. Previously the kitchen was closed for a deep clean. I didn’t bother asking on this occasion but did ask if it would be open on the 21st. YES, it would be open.
Tuesday 21st July, we arrived around mid day. All set for a light lunch only to be disappointed once again. Cafe closed due to private event. We spoke to some other patrons who also expressed their disappointment and like us left. Good news was that the nearby KINGSBARNS Inn has started doing lunches. I guess that will be tomorrow’s lunch stop.
Over the last several months we have noticed a decline in the staff attitude at Cambo, from a welcoming and friendly manner to one lacking any care whatsoever. When asked about who runs the Cafe, the young waiter said it was the TRUST. Maybe the TRUST should have a look at the what previously created a pleasurable experience to what is now no longer something to we look forward to.
Will the Cafe be open on the 22nd July, who knows, none of the staff we asked could confirm one way or the other. ‘An alien invasion’ or some other excuse may close what was a much loved Cafe for lunch when in this area.
