点评：The Lingaraja Temple is dedicated to God Shiva, is one of the oldest & largest temple in Bhubneshwar. The Lingaraj is referred to as ‘Swayambhu” – (self-originated Shivling) temple. It is based on Kalinga School of Temple Architecture and built during the 11th century AD. The main central tower is 180 feet tall. The sprawling temple complex has one hundred and fifty subsidiary shrines and is enclosed by a large compound wall...
The temple can broadly be divided into four main halls. The Garba Griha (Sanctum Sanctorum), the Yajana Mandapa (the hall for prayers) the Natya Mandapa (dance and music hall) and the Bhoga Mandapa (where devotees can have the Prasad (offering) of the Lord).
We reached here around 11am, ample parking space was there. Only Hindus are allowed in the temple. Mobiles, camera, umbrella, leather items are not allowed inside, to be put in lockers there. The day was not much crowded, we had very good darshan, & took approx. 45 minutes to complete. Several Prasad shops, flower shops, souvenirs shops are there.
