点评:This place is steeped in history. Misery and suffering is baked in to the walls.
Very reasonable entry fee, there is the usual uplift for foreigners, but even with that this still gives stunning value and was worth every single rupee paid.
As you enter there are doors on left and right - they lead to a very worthwhile area to look at at. They contain panels of information about how some of the people ended up there.
Makes for uncomfortable reading at times, and perhaps that is only right. It needs to be uncomfortable reading, so we don't forget.
The conditions - brutal
The regime - brutal
I constantly had the hairs stand up on my neck around here, a very warm afternoon yet areas felt very chilly.
All they dared to do was want their own country back, dared to want independence.
This is truly a must visit historical site.
