点评:Saturday afternoon my family were very disappointed with our welcome when a lady member of staff approached us across the car park in a suspicious manner. We had met our son, daughter-in-law with baby and we four were seated on the grass beside the car as our baby grandson was still asleep in his baby carseat. She asked abruptly if we planned on going into the gardens? We explained that as picnics are not allowed inside we had started ours while waiting for baby to awake. We had all travelled for 2 hours to meet here. Later perhaps spotting that the little one was awake and having some food the same lady marched across the grounds suggesting that if we were not intending to walk inside, and it was 3.30, that we make a donation of £5 each . She accepted £25 offered by my son who then decided to return to London with his wife and baby as the day had been spoilt by this volunteer's unnecessary very rude manner. (In my opinion not a fine example from the older generation.) My husband and I finally bought 2 x tickets and managed a short walk in the sunshine to shake off the unpleasant atmosphere that remained before our 2 hour drive back to the New Forest. We certainly never saw a sign requesting parking charges whilst we were there.
