Super-Relaxing Trip on the SS Badger Ferry

点评：On Friday, July 10, my wife, Pam, and I took the SS Badger ferry from Ludington to Manitowoc as the final leg back home after vacationing in Michigan. Bottomline, it was a fantastic voyage. Imagine being on a big ship with over 500 other passengers but there was no loud music, crazy rides or attractions and just a peaceful, relaxing trip across Lake Michigan for four hours. We sat outside on the lounge chairs taking in the sun and enjoying the calm waters and warm breeze. Food and beverage choices were good and reasonably priced. I went to the on-board Gift Shop and the staff was very helpful finding a nice t-shirt in my size. Bought a book on the history of the Ferry ships that crossed the lake and then just relaxed on the upper deck. It caused me to think about passengers ships of the early 1900's that were quiet and peaceful - not the over-crowded and over-stimulating monster cruise ships of today. Not only was it a pleasure to experience but it saved us from having to spend six hours driving around the chaos of the Chicago area. We're so glad we made this trip. It was the perfect ending of a week long vacation in Michigan. We will definitely do it again!
