点评：Our visit to the Rydal’s Museum was so highly satisfying that I came here to tell you all about it. If you are swimming, fishing or canoeing in the area, or participating in the guided 750 meter “historic walk”, or visiting the Rydal Power Station, Rydal’s Museum is a must visit for you, as your extended classroom that offers hands-on experiential learning and creativity in a unique industrial environment, no matter you are a private visitor or a profession.
Rydal community is in the Viskan valley between Seglora and Kinna. The spinning mill is all the way back from 1853, whereas the Rydal’s Museum is from 1985. It’s Sweden's oldest preserved spinnery.
It offers themes of textile heritage and the industrial heritage with its selections in the cultural-historical environment, as an educational example of industrialization.
Prior to visit, the tourists are advised to explore the updates on the current programs and activities at the museum, or specific exhibitions in various premises, studio and atelier.
We explored the museum’s machine hall and the creative workshop, and was delightfully overwhelmed by the production techniques, display of the historic machines, machine demonstrations, yarns, patterns, garments, weaving, knitting, crocheting and the preservation. The spinning machines have remained in place, row after row, since the 1940s.
There is free entry; screenings, exhibitions and lectures are included, no registration is necessary. It has a cozy coffee corner as well for your coffee-break. Please have an informal talk with the amiable welcoming reception-desk. Not to mention picturesque surroundings and large parking lot, which are two distinctive highlights for us.
