Big Buddha amidst long queue of people

点评：Spent 2 days visiting Leshan Buddha. Arrived from Chengdu by train and headed straight to visit the Buddha. No queue getting tickets and entry. Took the long walk to entry point then encountered the 1st crowd climbing the stairs to the top after the entry point. So happened it was the school holiday long weekend with families and children in tow. We got excited when we saw the Buddha's head then the nightmare with people squeezing to take pictures 5 abreast. Nobody cares and even get in front of you while talking photos to get their pictures taken. Walking on we then saw the next queue and that's getting to the feet of Buddha. Looking from above we heard the announcement that the wait from that point was 3-hours. We decided to skip and walked on to discover other parts of the park. Chatting with some locals over dinner and they suggested getting there early in the morning or before closing and that's the best time with little to no queue visiting the attraction. Next morning we had an early breakfast and was at the park by 8am and truly had the park almost to ourselves. 1st priority we rushed to the line(what line/queue?) to climb down to Buddha's feet within minutes and had the best photo op. Satisfied we climbed up and further explored other parts of the park we did not cover the day before. Truly the big Buddha is not all there is. Do not miss the caves further in as they are as magnificent if not more eye opening. Yje boat ride is not necessary if you manage to get to the bottom, at the feet and look up. Its a great place to visit except one has to avoid the chaotic crowd and queue.
翻译：我们在乐山大佛游览了两天。从成都乘火车抵达后，我们直奔大佛而去。买票入场完全不用排队。我们走了很长一段路才到达入口，然后遇到了第一批正在爬台阶的游客。恰逢学校长周末假期，到处都是带着孩子的家庭。看到佛头时我们很兴奋，但随后就陷入了噩梦：人们挤在一起拍照，五个人并排站着。没人理会，甚至有人会走到我们前面拍照。继续往前走，我们看到了下一条队伍，那是通往佛脚的队伍。从上面往下看，我们听到广播说从那里开始要等三个小时。我们决定放弃，继续往前走，去探索公园的其他地方。晚饭时和一些当地人聊天，他们建议我们早上早点来或者在闭园前来，这样排队的人最少，甚至不用排队。第二天早上我们早早吃了早餐，早上八点就到了公园，几乎独享了整个公园。第一要务，我们赶紧去排队（什么队伍？）几分钟之内就爬到佛像脚下，拍到了最棒的照片。心满意足之后，我们爬上去，继续探索前一天没去过的公园其他区域。大佛固然令人惊叹，但这里远不止大佛那么简单。千万别错过更深处的洞穴，它们同样壮观，甚至更令人大开眼界。如果你能到达佛像脚下，仰望佛像，就完全没必要坐船了。这里是个很棒的景点，只是需要避开拥挤的人潮和长长的队伍。
