点评：The 12-day Giant Irish Adventure Tour was the first group tour I have ever done. In the past, my husband and I completely planned our trips ourselves and did them as a couple. We travelled all over the world. Sadly he died last year but I still wanted to travel. But not by myself. So I did some research looking for an in-country tour company. I didn’t want some international company that does tours all over the world. I wanted one based in Ireland that would know the country best. I also wanted a small group tour, not a giant bus full of strangers. I found that company with Vagabond and I’m so glad I did. Part of their appeal was that they went “off the beaten path” and there was some hiking every day. I liked that we stayed in quaint, charming hotels, rather than big chain hotels that could have been anywhere in the world. Our van of 11 passengers, plus our driver/guide, became good friends quickly and shared many laughs. Vagabond was a wonderful adventure that I highly recommend.
A million thanks to Tom for being an excellent guide and driver for our 12-day Vagabond Giant Irish Adventure Tour. Although we seemed to take his terrific driving skills for granted, we were all very glad to have him navigating the narrow, twisty roads with great care and finesse.
Our itinerary was usually followed, but Tom added interesting secret spots that he knew about, or altered the itinerary to better suit the weather. He obviously knows Ireland very well to be able to be so spontaneous — or he does an incredible amount of planning and research! Tom’s love and pride of Ireland shone through daily as he shared stories and historical anecdotes. These were always told with his wonderful sense of humour that kept us laughing on the bus.
Tom quickly got to know his group and our individual quirks. He was always empathetic and considerate of our needs as a group and as individuals. He made me feel like my welfare was important to him. During our 12 days, he showed me countless kindnesses, always making me feel cared for, rather than a burden.
Your company has a true gem with Tom. I am so happy I picked Vagabond for my tour group and had Tom for my driver.
I highly recommend Vagabond tours as the best way to see Ireland.
