A beautiful garden to visit, good value with lots to see.
Howick Hall Gardens & Arboretum的点评
点评：This was our first time at Howick and we enjoyed it so, so much. It was easy to park, Rebecca greeted us warmly and gave us all the information we needed to enjoy our visit. She particularly recommended we visit the Silverwood woodland garden, so we did and it was breathtakingly beautiful. The rhododendrons and azaleas were in full bloom and the whole woodland was amazingly colourful. The birdsong was beautiful. The gardeners were happy to say ‘hello’ and obviously enjoyed and took pride in their work. There were regular comfortable garden seats to sit and take in the sights and sounds.
Every part of the garden was well maintained and the map was easy to follow. Paths unsuitable for wheelchairs were clearly marked.
We visited both the beautiful church and the hall and learned some of the very interesting history of the estate.
We chose to have coffee and delicious scones outside. It was freshly prepared to order and was reasonably priced. Later, we enjoyed our picnic at one of the many tables available very close to the car park.
We thought a couple of hours would be enough at Howick but we were there all day and only explored a small area of the estate. We found it to be excellent value for money and need to return, maybe in a different season as we’re sure there will be much of interest year round.
